CliPETA (Clip + THETA) takes an interesting approach on spherical photography. It meets needs of those who want to take a spherical image with many people in many directions several times and/or without an image of the photographer.
Using CliPETA, you can trim several spherical images as you like and then you can combine them to make one spherical image. Thanks to this function, you can even make a funny image in which the same person is seen in many directions at the same time.
Using CliPETA, one image can be divided into two to eight segments. Also, you can check the image right after you took it since the image is transmitted to the smartphone using Wi-Fi. User can easily make sure that the next image overlaps with the previous one as desired thanks to the gyro sensor of the smartphone. User also can retake an image as many times as needed, and saved images can be viewed in a gallery of the application.
If you want to take a spherical image by yourself but you do not want yourself seen in the image, it is necessary to hide yourself somewhere. However, taking such an image is impossible when there is nowhere to hide. This problem can be solved by using CliPETA because the photographer can take an image while he/she is out of the eventually used field of view.
