RICOH THETA package can be used as a casual HMD made of cardboard as is.
Casual HMD is a simple Head-Mounted Display which is used with smartphone. Examples are Google cardboard and Hacosco.
I came up with the idea when I saw the box of RICOH THETA m15. It seemed that there was no such gadget back then, so I made it myself.
A mount with monocular Fresnel lens and another with twin lenses for stereovision are included in my package.
Take these and RICOH THETA out from the package, and place your smartphone on the sucking disc on the bottom.
The standard viewer for RICOH THETA spherical image on Android smartphone places, at the center of the screen, the view seen in the direction to which the viewer directs the phone. This is done automatically by detecting the direction of the camera using the gyro inside. So using a single Fresnel lens for head mount display is enough to show the view of a particular direction when you turn your head to that direction. The photos need to be converted to twin lens photos/movies before viewing them stereoscopically.
Smartphone can be removed by inserting a finger into the slit and removing the sucking disc.
